This week is sign language week so we had to do a few activities around sign language. We had to do something called Sign Ninja. And from everything we learned we had to make a video of us saying Kia ora my name what and then your name. But we had to do it in sign language. It is actually really easy. Here is my Video.

Tremendous Time

For our math the last few weeks we have been working on Time and 24 hour time. We had to a lot of stuff on mine craft education edition. One of the tasks we had to do was make a table that shows 3 movies their run time and then what time they start. And then you had to ask someone else to work out at what time would they leave the cinema.

I hope you liked my work. I worked "Quite Hard" on it.

Magical Maths

For our math the last week we have been working on clocks and 24 hour times. Something we had to was on Mine craft education edition we had to make a analogue clock that said the time and then a digital clock that said 24 hour time. I decided to do 3 pm. Here it is.

For our writing for this week we have been doing an experiment where we dissolve powders into the solvent. Part of that we had to make a create using any website we want. I decided to do a presentation on canva. I couldn't get the video so I just took screenshots sorry for the inconvenience. Here they are.

Ice Science

For our writing the last few weeks we have been working on experiments that include melting ice. And this week we worked on what powder could eat away at ice the quickest. We knew that salt sprinkled at ice would melt it. Part of that was making a doc with a wondering, hypothesis, materials, variables, procedure, observations/results and conclusion. We did the experiment and somehow salt did it the quickest. here is my working out.

Super Spark

Oil is in and around our world, even in places you wouldn’t imagine. We use oil for cooking but we also use crude oil. The pumping and transporting of crude oil around the globe often have environmental effects. We have looked at various texts and videos to learn about some of these effects, and it ‘good’ timing as there was a recent oil spill (24 July 2020) in Mauritius that we could investigate. Disappointing Parachute`

For or inquiry this term we have been working on engineering and our task was to answer some questions and this is it. We used String 2 bolts Green fabric cut on corners. We had a fairly big parachute it was 40 cm long and 32 cm wide we made it fairly big because that increases drag, and it will fall slower. We thought that we should add more fabric on the top but we realised that would make it heavier. Our design fell in 1.05 seconds, which isn't very good.  Here are some pictures.

We added more fabric on the bottom of the parachute so it keeps its shape.  When falling. We saw it fall slower, before we changed it it fell in 1 sec .5 when we changed it it fell in 2.00 seconds. We changed it one more time and added more fabric 1.44 it did bad so we took the new fabric off.
